How to Setup Your Teams Voicemail
Follow the steps below to setup your Teams voicemail.
- Open Teams app on your PC.
- Click on the 3 dots in upper right corner of your Teams app and click on Settings.
- The Settings window will open, click on calls on the left side and then click on Configure voicemail.
- The voicemail window will open and here you have some options.
- You can click on Record a greeting if you what to have your voice on your message or you can use the text-to-speech section to type your greeting.
- The text-to-speech is pretty good, but we recommend you call and listen to your message after to create it. It will do a short pause for comma’s and a longer pause for periods.

Below that you will find a spot for custom out of office greeting that you can type in. If you do set a custom out of office greeting, you have some options below that to automate when the message is used.
- All the time – self explanatory
- When I have an Outlook auto reply – anytime you turn on your auto reply in Outlook your custom out of office message would play.

When I have an Out of office calendar event – any out of office events you have on your calendar will trigger your custom out of office greeting.
- You can select multiple choices.
- There is also a Call answer rules section that gives you option on what happens when your call goes to your voicemail. Most of these options are self-explanatory. If you select a choice that say to transfer the call you will have another box appear that says, where should they be transferred? Here you can enter a phone number or type in a person’s name that is in the Teams phone system.
- After making any changes in your voicemail settings please click on OK to apply your settings.
