PowerCampus - Degree Requirement Setup - Discipline
This article will provide steps for a PowerCampus user to setup Discipline in Degree Requirements in order to build out an Academic Plan.
Prerequisites
In order for a UWS employee to access a Discipline, the following must be true:
- PowerCampus user has write access in the Academic Plan tab
- PowerCampus is installed on user's machine
- Codes to be entered into Code Table have been approved by Data Governance
- The Event Classifications and Discipline Codes associated to the Degree Requirements have been created and entered into PowerCampus' Code Table
- Catalog Classification has been setup
Data Definitions
Discipline is a grouping of classifications or courses. Disciplines are by matriculation year/term.
Steps
The below information will provide the necessary steps to setup a Discipline in order to setup Degree Requirements.
1. Open the PowerCampus application.
2. Login to PowerCampus.
3. Click on the Academic Records icon in the left-hand panel.
4. Click on the Workflow tab in the ribbon, on the top of the page.
5. Select Degree Requirement Setup in the drop-down menu.
6. Double click on Catalog Classification.
7. Enter Matriculation Year and Term.
8. Print Order is always 001.
9. Choose Discipline from drop down menu.
10. Enter Minimum and Maximum Credits (Information can be found in the UWS Catalog).
11. Enter Minimum and Maximum Courses (Information can be found in the UWS Catalog).
13. Click on the magnifying glass under Classifications (not the one under view).
13. Enter each Classification required for the discipline.
14. Click on the insert icon to enter new row and repeat for all Classifications.
15. Click save and exit to main Discipline screen.
16. Repeat steps 9-15 for each discipline needed for programs in the matriculation year and term. Click the insert new row icon to add a new Discipline.
17. Now you are ready to setup Degree Requirement.
