PowerCampus - Degree Requirement Setup - Degree Requirement
This article will provide steps for a PowerCampus user to setup Degree Requirement in Degree Requirements workflow in order to build out an Academic Plan.
Prerequisites
In order for a UWS employee to setup a Degree Requirement, the following must be true:
- PowerCampus user has write access in the Academic Plan tab
- PowerCampus is installed on user's machine
- Codes to be entered into Code Table have been approved by Data Governance
- The Event Classifications and Discipline Codes associated to the Degree Requirements have been created and entered into PowerCampus' Code Table
- Catalog Classification has been setup under Degree Requirement
- Discipline has been setup under Degree Requirement
Data Definitions
Degree Requirement hold the general education and curriculum requirements and electives by matriculation year/term for each program/degree/curriculum. Requirements set up at the program level will be defaulted at the program/degree level and requirements set up at the program/degree level will be defaulted at the program/degree/curriculum level.
Steps
The below information will provide the necessary steps to setup a Discipline in order to setup Degree Requirements.
1. Open the PowerCampus application.
2. Login to PowerCampus.
3. Click on the Academic Records icon in the left-hand panel.
4. Click on the Workflow tab in the ribbon, on the top of the page.
5. Select Degree Requirement Setup in the drop-down menu.
6. Double click on Degree Requirement.
7. Enter Matriculation Year and Term.
8. Print Order is always 001.
9. Choose Program from drop down menu.
10. Choose Program of Study from drop down menu.
11.Choose Curriculum from drop down menu.
12. Click on the magnifying glass under Discipline.
13. Choose Discipline from drop down and enter number of credits, courses and classifications.
14. Back in the Degree Requirement, enter the minimum Overall GPA.
15. In Degree Requirement click the insert icon to add each program and then repeat steps 8-14.
16. Click save.
17. You can now view each students' Academic Plan. Additionally, you can now utilize all setup Degree Requirements in future Matric Years and Terms through the Copy function. Check this article out for more information on utilizing Copy to New Matric Year/Term.
