PowerCampus - Degree Requirement Setup - Copy to New Matric Year/Term
This article will provide steps for a PowerCampus user to copy a previously setup classification, discipline and/or degree requirement in Degree Requirements workflow.
Prerequisites
In order for a UWS employee to utilize the Copy to New Matric Year/Term, the following must be true:
- PowerCampus user has write access in the Academic Plan tab
- PowerCampus is installed on user's machine
- Codes to be entered into Code Table have been approved by Data Governance
- The Event Classifications and Discipline Codes associated to the Degree Requirements have been created and entered into PowerCampus' Code Table
- Catalog Classification has been setup under Degree Requirement
- Discipline has been setup under Degree Requirement
- At least one Degree Requirement, Discipline or Catalog Classification has been created
Data Definitions
Copy to New Matric Year/Term Use the copy to copy classifications, disciplines and degree requirements from one matric year/term to another.
Steps
The below information will provide the necessary steps to setup a Discipline in order to setup Degree Requirements.
1. Open the PowerCampus application.
2. Login to PowerCampus.
3. Click on the Academic Records icon in the left-hand panel.
4. Click on the Workflow tab in the ribbon, on the top of the page.
5. Select Degree Requirement Setup in the drop-down menu.
6. Double click on Copy to New Matric Year/Term.
7. Under Process, uncheck boxes for Degree Requirements and Discipline.
8. Choose terms to Copy From and Copy To using drop down menu. Click the Process button to copy the Classification.
9. The Process is completed when the following message is displayed: 'Copying Classification - Finished. Process complete.'
10. Exit the copy window
11. Open Catalog Classification and enter new Year and Term.
12. Click on Courses magnifying glass and make any changes to each classification necessary (delete old courses, add new courses).
13. Create Discipline and Degree Requirement Setup for new term.
14. If no changes to the curriculum, you can Copy to New Matric Year/Term for the individual program.
