SignNow - Field Validation Setup
Field Validations
Form Field Validations require a form field to meet a minimum requirement from the signer when entering data. Examples would be an email address (name@company.com), Date format (MM/DD/YYYY) and Currency format ($X.XX), to name a few. If the data entered does not meet the field requirement, then the validation will be triggered, prompting the user to make a change that satisfies the field formatting. Additionally, when a validation is not met, the user will not be able to complete the signing process without correcting the error. - Open a document from either the Documents Folder or the Templates Folder and make sure the form has Fields added. If no fields have been added, please see the ‘Add Fields, Labels and Roles to Document’ section above to help with adding fields.
- To add a field validation, click on the field and then click on the drop down under ‘Validation Type’
- Select the validation that meets requirement of the field, such as Email Address
- Select ‘Show More’ to see additional validation types
- Click ‘Ok’ and continue through all fields that you want to add a Validation Type
- Repeat for every field that you would like at add a validation
Click ‘Done’ in the upper right hand corner of the website to save changes
